Dickensian London walks for education groups

Taking part in a Dickens walk gives students the opportunity to examine the life of Dickens through visiting places that shaped his life – from humble beginnings to his legacy as one of Britain’s greatest literary figures.

Dickens went on long rambling walks around London, taking in the sights and sounds, observing people and places, and using them as inspiration for his timeless stories and characters.

Using excerpts from Dickens’s novels, insights from those who knew Dickens personally and their own expert knowledge, Richard Jones and his team of guides aim to bring Dickens’s London to life.

Walks take approximately an hour and a half (90 minutes), and can be organised to run alongside our taught programme of school workshops.

Booking

1.5 hours - starting from and returning to the museum

£12 per student/teacher
Maximum number of 30 per walk - includes students and accompanying staff 

(A minimum charge will apply for small groups of fewer than 20 persons) 

Walks are suitable for KS3 upwards but we will consider requests from teachers wishing to bring older KS2 pupils on a school by school basis.
