A Christmas Carol and Other Tales of Christmas Past
Smoking Apples Theatre Company returns to the Charles Dickens Museum this December to bring you an enchanting story of Christmas.
Presenting stunning shadow puppetry and captivating physical theatre, this magical tale will fascinate adults and children alike and awaken your festive spirit.
Bringing to life not only the classic tale of A Christmas Carol but also Dickens’s lesser known Christmas Stories, Smoking Apples combines puppets and live actors with an identifiable and unique style of movement, creating an atmosphere that entices you into an enchanting world. Their enormously talented cast will turn a teacup into Tiny Tim and transform from ghostly spirits to the miserly Scrooge with the flick of a top hat and the click of a cane. It simply has to be seen to be believed! We’d like to tell you more but to do so would spoil the surprise…
Previous work includes The Wordcatcher, (Lyric Hammersmith 2012, SUSPENSE 2013) and the puppetry for Kate Bush’s music video “Eider Falls at Lake Tahoe”.
Friday 5th December - Tuesday 30th December
