A Very Dickensian Christmas Eve
Start your Christmas with a day to remember at 48 Doughty Street, as we celebrate the festive season. The halls will be decked with holly and ivy and the rooms ready for a Christmas celebration just as the Dickens family would have known it.
This year, the cast of Everyone’s Carol will be bringing their magical shared vision of a New York and London Christmas Carol to Doughty Street. Picking up the tale of Dickens’s very personal “little ghost of a book”, from room to room they will lead you through vignettes taken from A Christmas Carol, illuminating the enduring tale of light and dark.
You can also immerse yourself in a host of other festivities around the House. See how the Victorians made a traditional Christmas pudding, enjoy the sound of carols echoing in the halls and listen to extracts from A Christmas Carol, all in the beautiful surroundings of Charles Dickens’s only remaining London family home.
Tickets will include some warming mulled cider and traditional mince pies.
